Album Swap Hiatus

We're taking a short break over the exam period becuase of revision and all that. Everyone else can still review the album's we've currently got if they wish to. But I'm afraid no new albums will be posted for a while.
Still there's plenty to look forward to including reviews of the Sonisphere and Reading festivals and the long awaited Album Swap Podcast. As well as a bit of a revamp of the place and some better organisation.

See you in June

Matt.

A little note from Dan:

I've been through all the posts and tagged them with their reviewer in the format "review: (name)"

In future posts could we try and do this? Also I want to get all the genres sorted out, but obviously a lot of the time the poster can't really decide on what genre(s) to post it as.

I'll list the uncategorized albums here, if you can suggest a genre then please post it in the comments section of this post.

Elliott Smith - Roman Candle
Blur - Parklife
Biffy Clyro - Puzzle
The Smiths - Meat Is Murder
InMe - White Butterfly
Skindred - Babylon
Damien Rice - O

Thanks

Dan

  1. Elliott Smith - Roman Candle / Indie Rock
    Blur - Parklife / Britpop
Biffy Clyro - Puzzle / Alternative Rock
The Smiths - Meat Is Murder / Alternative Rock
InMe - White Butterfly / Alternative Rock
Skindred - Babylon / Alternative Metal, Reggae
    Damien Rice - O / Folk

This is straight from wikipedia btw. Also I know alot of stuff is labelled as Alternative Rock, but remember the sound changes throughout the years. This is why The Smiths and InMe are in the same genre, they are years apart.

  2. Well...I don't know about Elliott Smith being Indie Rock.

And InMe like to think of themselves as Indie Metal, hence the name. I'm happy with the others I suppose though. I haven't heard The Smiths or Blur's albums.

  3. I'd just go with alternative for Elliott Smith.

  4. Indie rock is fucking killing me.
I called it alternative but only because I couldn't think of anything esle. Smiths are post punk / new wave aren't they?
